The Sutter Center for Psychiatry Postdoctoral training program is made up of 3 specialty tracks as explained below. Each postdoc receives an hour of primary supervision from a psychologist working directly within their setting and delegated supervision from a psychologist or psychiatrist. Each postdoc also receives 2 hours per week of group supervision provided by the Director of Training. The Director of Training also provides several of the ongoing trainings throughout the year.
Sutter Center for Psychiatry's training staff includes a training director, staff psychologists, psychiatrists, and support from multiple disciplines throughout the hospital. Training throughout the hospital is provided biweekly within the training program as well as hospital wide through monthly Grand Rounds. The trainings are provided by specialists within our hospital as well as treatment providers from the community and local universities who support our training program. All training takes place on site and varies from formal media presentations, written presentations, and case discussions.
